Nature on the doorstep

Lüdenscheid is a lucky town. With nature all around: hills, forests, lakes. Superbly marked trails, inviting you to enjoyed extended, relaxing walks.
Just outside the town there are many sights worth seeing. For example Schloss Neuenhof, surrounded by water. Or Bremecker Hammer, the smithy museum. Not far away - Burg Altena castle with its museums.
The Versetalsperre reservoir lies south of the town. The traffic-free paths - of which there are also many on the outskirts of the town - provide plenty of opportunities for extended and refreshing walks. Ideal for filling your lungs with oxygen. The Fuelbecker, Fürwigge and Jubach dams as well as the area around the Homert lookout tower (539 metres above sea-level) and the nearby Ebbegebirge range of hills are delightful destinations for outings, both in summer and winter.
