Walking
Good opportunities for extended walks: 200 km of marked paths, e.g. in the area of the Homert tower (highest point of the town, 539 m).
The Walks Guide Lüdenscheid with 20 selected walking routes can be purchased for 5 € at the Bürgeramt. The guide is also available in Dutch and English.

The "KNAX-Nature Experience Path", a 1.9 km round-trip hiking path around Hokühler Bay to the Versetal Dam, is always a winning excursion destination for young and old.
The path is specially suited for children; parking lot at the Klamer Bridge.

Another unusual hiking route, the "Ochsentour" (Ox Tour) in the Stilleking Nature Reserve, provides the unique opportunity to experience an aurochs herd in the wild.

Cycling
Lüdenscheid and the area are part of the NRW cycle route network. It's the right place for you if you like cycling in the low mountains. The difference in elevation is 307 m just within the town's boundaries.
